Consumption
of High Pressure Hydrogen Cylinders by Balloon Command During the War
Throughout the months of May to September 1940 the number of cylinders Red bars) reached
an
all time high due to balloon losses incurred from enemy action.
Through July 1944 to end of September 1944 the consumption of high pressure Hydrogen cylinders
peaked in July because of the relocation of balloons to Kent to defend against the V1 flying bombs.
The so-called, “anti-Diver “barrage. By October the threat was minimal and no more figures were
collated
on the consumption of high pressure Hydrogen cylinders.
